It has a frequency range from 0 to 6 GHz, meaning it can protect any type of outdoor antenna in this range, including 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi antennas, and many cellular antennas as well. The connector type on each end is N-female, so depending on your antenna and cable type, you may need converters. We will be happy to help you track down the right type of converter.
Why get a lightning protector? If you have an outdoor antenna, and lightning strikes it, the resulting surge could be harmful to any equipment you have attached to the antenna via cable, such as Wi-Fi receivers or wireless routers/access points. Boaters and RVers are especially vulnerable to lightning strikes with tall outdoor antennas. This lightning protector goes in between the antenna cable and the antenna (outdoors) and should not be used indoors between the receiver and cable.
This item is 100% nickel-plated brass which is better than the common aluminum devices found on the market. This comes in factory white box and is brand new.
